Lee Chin & Friends: A Strings Extravaganza

Critically-acclaimed Singaporean violinist Siow Lee Chin returns for a special concert to launch her debut recording Songs My Father Taught Me, in conjunction with the 130th anniversary of her alma mater, Raffles Girls’ School.


With appearances in the music capitals of Europe, Australasia and the Americas, Lee Chin has been praised by The Cleveland Plain Dealer, “Here was a lark that ascended with utmost grace and sang in the loveliest of voices”, and described as “ELECTRIFYING” by The Straits Times.


Active in charitable work, Lee Chin now brings her astonishing talent and virtuosity to this concert to benefit children’s charities supported by the President’s Challenge. Don’t miss lyrical masterworks and dazzling showpieces from Lee Chin’s debut album with award-winning pianist Albert Tiu, as well as the magnificent Vivaldi Concerto for Four Violins in B minor accompanied by the RGS String Ensemble.

Still only 27, Craig David has already enjoyed a career of phenomenal success with 13 million album sales worldwide after bursting onto the scene with his debut album ‘Born To do It’. Since then, he has released 4 successful studio albums and a recent Greatest Hits album.

Living with Shi Mei and Albert

Join young violinist Shi Mei in an evening of wine and merry making with music ranging from works by Saint-Saens and Sarasate, to transcriptions of jazz numbers by Gershwin and Kapustin. She will be accompanied by Albert Lin on the piano.
Recently awarded the 2nd prize at the National Violin Competition, Shi Mei graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in 2008, majoring in violin and piano performance under the Conservatory Dean Scholarship and Talent Award. She is also a recipient of the National Arts Council Arts Bursary in 2007.
Shi Mei has performed at the Carnegie Hall and Severance Hall in the US, Poly Theatre of Beijing and Shanghai Concert Hall in China, as well as major venues in Singapore.
